This study analyzed the current dental insurance and care practices in the United States, and the role that it plays in national health insurance systems. This was accomplished through extensive literary analysis of articles and websites that discussed both current dental/health care practices and also the insurance systems and policies that support and inhibit individuals receiving the care they need. It was discovered that routine dental visits can play a crucial role in the identification and mitigation of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, and sleep apnea. The utilization of available dental care services was found to have a direct correlation with the possession of dental insurance, with a drastic drop-off in utilization amongst the uninsured. Through the analysis of barriers towards the integration of nationwide dental insurance, such as socioeconomic differences, regulatory and policy concerns, and cultural and behavioral barriers, a few potential solutions were developed. All of these factors were researched and investigated to generate a report of why dental care is important, the challenges to the integration of dental insurance in the United States, and steps that can be taken to guide this country in the right direction.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze in-depth the current research on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), outlining the prominently researched methods of treatment that have led to successful therapy for the ones being treated. Within this thesis, the definition of successful treatment of autistic individuals will be defined by how well the individuals can adapt to their employment opportunities and their own social lives. Success will be measured through the effectiveness of specific treatments, such as speech therapy and therapeutic-based diets, to better gauge the success rate of treatment for autistic individuals. The thesis itself will serve as a review of the currently proposed treatment methods, analyzing where the most successful treatments were derived from and then offering a summary conclusion on the overall scope of the research. Recommendations on future research will be made to encapsulate all the research provided through which a scholarly lens was applied. Overall, the best methods of treatment will involve both a dietary and occupational approach, so as to tackle any environmental or genetic origins of ASD. More specifically, through a combination of vitamin and mineral supplements to manage behavioral symptoms combined with Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques, ASD can be more effectively treated to improve an individual’s quality of life.

A New Globalization: How Trade and Power Restructuring is Changing Global Supply Chains

In the developed world, we often take the positive correlation between openness to trade and development for granted. After all, the world has seen the greatest amount of economic growth ever in this relatively short period of time in which global markets have been very accessible. There can be many factors attributed to this perspective on the near-universal association between trade and wealth, such as its simple, intuitive reasoning, a historical drive for developed nations to seek out beneficial trade opportunities, or perhaps even a general lack of awareness when it comes to how such enterprising attitudes may impact those living in entirely different civilizations. Whatever the reasoning may be, the reality is that global trade or openness to it is not as cut and dry as many would like to believe, nor does trade openness come as freely as one might expect, as certain conditions are needed in order to foster access to well-developed markets. It has been observed recently that the cost of doing trade, so to speak, has been increasing globally as certain state and nonstate actors push against the free trade model developed by the United States after World War II. It is with this challenge in mind that we explore the recent changes in the balance of global power dynamics that have led to a decline in the openness of the globalized economy. Saying this, we are not advocating for an end to "globalization", rather, this paper is meant to observe multiple potential frustrations to the current economic global order and the resulting fallout of trade among the world’s top economies.
