In 2015, a new way to track baseball games was introduced to MLB, marking the beginning of the Statcast Revolution. This new way to track the game brought about a number of new statistics, including the use of expected statistics. Expected statistics provide an estimate of what a player’s statistics should be on average with their same actions. This will be explored more in the upcoming paper. While expected statistics are not intended to predict the future performance of players, I theorized that there may be some relation, particularly on younger players. There is not any research on this topic yet, and if there does exist a correlation between expected statistics and future performance, it would allow teams to have a new way to predict data on their players. Research to find a correlation between the two was carried out by taking predictive accuracies of expected batting average and slugging of 12 MLB players throughout their rookie to 8th year seasons and combining them together to find an interval in which I could be confident the correlation lay. Overall, I found that I could not be certain that there was a correlation between the predictive accuracy of expected statistics and the length of time a player has played in MLB. While this conclusion does not offer any insights of how to better predict a player’s future performance, the methodology and findings still present opportunities to gain a better understanding of the predictive measures of expected statistics.

The United States military, even including ROTC programs, is becoming increasingly diverse which reflects the variety of cultures present in the country. Latinos are a notable and growing part of this diversity, contributing to the country’s armed forces while dealing with a unique set of opportunities and obstacles. The current demographic of our nation’s leaders in the military consists of mainly white individuals (Department of Defense, 2022). To understand why this is the case, survey and interview data were gathered from both male and female Latino cadets participating in ASU Army ROTC currently. Latino cadets in ASU Army ROTC were asked what experiences or opportunities either hindered or reaffirmed their decision to become officers in the Army. Moreover, the research delves into the rich cultural and familial factors that can play an important role in shaping motivations. The research has found that Latino cadets are experiencing hardship in the form of lack of mentorship in the early years, lack of intentional integration for Latino cadets joining the program, and limited diversity found in upper levels of leadership in the Army. By addressing and recognizing the unique issues regardless of background, military institutions can garner diversity and assure that all incoming cadets, have equal opportunities to excel as leaders in the armed forces in the United States.

We are a group of three business students starting a hummus company rooted in health and transparency. Our business plan is to create homemade-style hummus with the most pure and nutritious ingredients to provide a viable snack option to a lacking market. Our distribution will be centered around farmers markets in our early stages, taking advantage of face-to-face interactions with customers to build our brand and reputation before expanding into grocery stores.

Women in developing countries suffer greatly when they are menstruating. With a lack of education provided and a lack of resources, they are unable to get the care they truly need. This makes them more vulnerable to developing easily preventable diseases. In areas of India, it is extremely difficult to gain access to safe water that ensures a woman’s hygiene is adequate. Through the Culture, Health, and Environmental Lab (CHElab) in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change at Arizona State University, researchers were able to conduct face-to-face interviews in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. The women who took part in the study described their experience regarding water insecurity and limited resources as “humiliating and deeply distressing” (CHEl, 2021). Cultural and environmental factors are key in analyzing the true difficulties the women are experiencing with inadequate water and menstruation products. The cultural factors that have been highlighted are age, religion, and the family which they live with. Specifically relating to water insecurity, the focus is on where they get the water from and what difficulties they face. By analyzing the data provided for the women in India, it is imperative to understand their difficulties.

“Untangled Roots: Through us all” explores the transformative power of a dance-based intervention aimed at breaking the cycles of generational trauma to safeguard the well-being of future generations. Grounded in the understanding of generational trauma as the transmission of emotional wounds through familial lines, the choreography and production within the show examines how dance serves as a medium for raising awareness and facilitating healing. Through movement, storytelling, and embodied expression, both audience members and dancers are able to engage in a process of reconnecting with suppressed emotions, releasing tension, and reclaiming agency over their narratives. By fostering empathy, connection, and solidarity, the dance intervention not only addresses individual traumas but also works towards preventing their continuation into the future, thereby promoting resilience and well-being across generations.
